How To Use A Night Cream To Improve Your Skin While You Sleep

We live in a busy world and sometimes we dont have enough time to completely address our skin care needs. Remember, those precious hours you sleep at night can also be used to rehydrate your skin without disrupting your daily routine.

When we think of night cream treatments, visions of grandma wearing rollers and thick, white cream may arise in our heads. However, modern evening beauty treatments are invisible, effective and look and smell great.

Night creams are beneficial because every day our bodies divide their biological processes into two phases – active and resting/repairing. The active phase occurs when we are awake and working. The resting/repairing phase happens while we sleep and our body renews itself for another day.

During the resting/repairing phase, our bodies experience the greatest water loss of the day through the skin. As a result, your skin is less capable of absorbing active ingredients. Using a night cream enriched with vitamins is ideal because it fights free radicals while you sleep and provides essential nutrients for your skin. For people with dry skin, night creams also help to prevent the loss of water during sleep, making it very helpful in hydrating extremely parched skin.

Basically, your day cream should protect your skin from the elements and your night cream should provide essential nutrients while you sleep. During the day, our skin is exposed to sun, wind and particles in the air and requires a barrier against the elements. On the other hand, the evening is an ideal time to use a night cream that offers a specialized treatment for your skin, such as anti-aging or exfoliating, because we are at rest and the skin is receptive to such treatments.

By including a night cream in your evening routine, you will enjoy a much more attractive complexion.br

Home Made Acne Treatments And Acne Emergency Treatments

A mixture of ground nutmeg and raw (unpasteurised) milk applied to the spots is alleged to make them disappear without a trace.

A paste of 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon applied to the spots at bedtime and washed away in the morning will see spots disappear forever. Try mixing 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon as an alternative.

Finely grate the very outer rind of an orange and mix it into a paste with a little water and apply to the spots to assist healing. An application of fresh garlic rubbed on the spots is believed to make them disappear without a trace

Regularly treat your skin to a treatment of 1 tablespoon of groundnut oil and 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice and this will prevent formation of blackheads and pimples. Pulverize some fresh mint leaves and spread over the whole face to ward off spots and to treat stings, eczema and other skin infections.

A paste of fenugreek leaves spread over the face every night and left for 10 minutes before washing off is said to not only fight spots but also to prevent wrinkles. Mash 2 very ripe tomatoes into a pulp, apply to the affected area and leave for an hour before washing off.

Treatment for Acne – In Emergency!

Do not, under any circumstances pinch or pick at your pimple. All you will achieve is an even redder spot that is more inflamed; you will spread bacteria over other parts of your face; you will introduce fresh bacteria into what becomes an open wound and long term you risk severe scarring.

Apply an ice pack to the offending pimple for a few minutes and reapply every half hour. Use an ice cube but wrap it in a piece of cloth to prevent scalding the skin surrounding the spot. The ice will help to decrease the swelling and reduce the pain.

If you are short of time use a medicated, skin colored concealer cream to cover the spot but remembering to be scrupulous about removing this cosmetic covering when you return home.

Wash your face at least three times during the day avoiding harsh chemicals and perfumed products. Gently scrub the skin with nothing more severe than a clean washcloth.

Have an emergency tube of an acne cream or ointment containing Benzyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid and apply this to the spot. Avoid using these products over extensive areas if possible as they are very drying. Avoid wearing make up until you have to go out – give your skin chance to breathe.

Believe it or not, a smear of toothpaste on the affected area can help soothe irritation and reduce redness. Try pressing a dampened teabag against the spot to reduce inflammation. Lemon juice can help too when you apply some to the spot and leave to dry.br

Women of all ages are considering chemical peels more often then ever before. After all, it certainly has become the buzz in the skin care world. But what are chemical peels good for and what are the different types?

One of the reasons that chemical peels have become so popular is because not only are they very effective with options for just about every skin problem, but they are also very affordable. No longer are celebrities the only market.

Chemical peels are popular can deal effectively with all types of acne problems, aging issues like fine lines and wrinkles, some types of cancer, and sun damage. Chemical peels are usually done by a dermatologist or esthetician.

A chemical peel is a caustic acid that is applied to the skin causing the top layer to burn and then slough off. When this layer is removed, it signals the body to regenerate with a new skin layer that is tighter leaving your skin fresh and glowing, and you looking years younger. Now you understand why the demand is what it is. But which type of chemical peel is right for you?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids [AHA] is derived from sugars which is why you see words like fruit acids, lactic, and malic attached to it. This is the mildest type of peel fondly referred to as the lunch time peel. It is a good choice for skin pigmentation issues, sunspots, light sun damage, and some acne.

Beta Hydroxy Acids [BHA] is oil based making it extremely effective for bacteria type problems such as dermatitis or psoriasis. Like AHA, it is mild and has a very short healing time.

Trichloaroacetic Acid [TCA] is a medium depth peel which get down to the dermis meaning the results will last longer and it will treat more skin conditions. Healing can be two weeks or more depending on the treatment. It is good for all types of acne, scars, lightening tattoos, skin damage, and signs of aging.

Phenol Peels is the deepest chemical peel reaching deep into the skin and taking the longest amount of time to heal. It can be used for any of the serious skin conditions. However, because of the serious health risks associated with the phenol peels they are seldom used anymore.
All four groups of chemical peels are usually done by a dermatologist or esthetician.

For something less invasive, use the wrinkle creams that work. Of the four types, most professionals agree that the TCA peels are the best choice for almost all conditions./pbr

Bad acne can really have an effect on your life, but there are treatments that you can use that can help you clear up that embarrassing problem. Depending on the severity of your acne will greatly affect what kind of treatment option that you can use. There are many different treatments options such as an all natural approach or prescription and non prescription medications.

You will want to start with the least amount of medication as possible that you can work your way up depending on how well the treatment helps. It will also depend on your skin type whether a certain treatment will work for you. If you have sensitive skin, then you may need to use only the prescription medications.

There is no quick fix for acne whether you have a mild or severe case. It does take time to treat acne. It will not go away over night so if you try a cream and you don’t see differences in the morning, then don’t be too upset. Most treatments will take several weeks before you see a big difference in your skin. Some treatments may even take up to a couple of months.

Acne treatments come in a couple of different forms. There are spot creams, liquid antiseptic ointments or serums, and oral medications. The spot treatments are the most common among young people. This is because you can get them over the counter without a prescription from the doctor. These creams are also good for people who only have mild acne.

People who have moderate to severe acne may prefer to use the oral medications. These treatments have been found to be the most effective forms. You must have a prescription for these types of treatments. They work well but are most commonly used as a last resort to other forms of treatments. It is not recommended that you start out using the oral medication except in severe cases of acne.

The oral acne treatments work, but sometimes they are not recommended because they also come with side effects. Some of the side effects are minimal, but others can be very severe. Rashes and severe depression are some of the typical side effects that the oral medication can cause. That is why most often this particular type of treatment is not normally used on any under the age of 18. If you have severe acne it is recommended that you see a dermatologist to see what course of action would be best for your case.
